Just looking at 18-19 wouldn't it been quicker to have gone south of the line down the small track and past the water trough up past the two distinctive trees, avoiding all the rocks to the north. You would have come out above the control site on the north side of the hill where the control feature would have been very visible.

The first two thirds of the leg was intentional though because the running in the gullies was better than the slopes. I was running on a sheep track at 4 min/km for most of that leg, which was mainly why won this split. It wasn't intentional to run through the rocks the way I did though. I was intending to travel under the number 22 but got pulled up the bigger gully instead of the smaller re-entrant with the track.
