NZSS Champs - 'Long' (16-07-2015)

Tough map with sticks, sand, ferns and thick blackberry especially through the last few controls making the terrain very physical in parts. Orienteering was the toughest I have ever done in a schools orienteering event with almost no obvious features to navigate off - compass was essential for every leg. My main mistakes at no2 and no20 came down to bad direction and bad orienteering - my plan was simply to run on my compass without a proper attack point and route and I felt this cost me a bit of time with hesitations and small direction errors on many legs. Overall pretty happy with my run though.
